'Welcome To The Jungle' Earns ₹63.75 Crore India Net in First Weekend Run

Akshay Kumar’s latest comedy entertainer Welcome To The Jungle has delivered a strong performance at the Indian box office, maintaining an upward trend throughout its opening weekend. The film crossed the ₹50 crore net mark in India by the end of its first Sunday, driven by steady audience growth and rising occupancy across major markets.

The film showed consistent momentum across its first three days. It earned ₹15.25 crore on Day 1, followed by a sharp 31.1% jump on Saturday with collections of ₹20 crore net. The upward trajectory continued on Sunday, when the film registered ₹24.75 crore net, marking another 23.8% growth. With this, the film’s India net total reached ₹63.75 crore, while its gross domestic collection stood at ₹76.5 crore by the end of the opening weekend.

Audience turnout improved significantly over the weekend, with the film screening across more than 10,000 shows nationwide. Hindi occupancy rose from 35.17% on Saturday to 45.71% on Sunday, reflecting stronger family and urban audience engagement. Morning shows started modestly but saw a sharp increase by evening, peaking at over 65% occupancy during prime time on Sunday.

Regional performance data indicates broad-based growth across key urban centres. Mumbai, NCR, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow and Chandigarh all reported higher occupancy on Sunday compared to Saturday, with Ahmedabad showing one of the steepest jumps. Southern and eastern markets such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata and Bhopal also contributed to the film’s overall weekend strength.

On the international front, Welcome To The Jungle also posted encouraging numbers. The film earned ₹16.95 crore overseas by the end of the weekend, pushing its worldwide gross to ₹93.45 crore. Strong diaspora support contributed to the global tally, helping the film maintain momentum beyond domestic markets. Directed by Ahmed Khan, the film is the third instalment in the Welcome franchise and features Akshay Kumar in the lead along with a large ensemble cast. Positioned as a comedy-driven jungle adventure, the film’s early box office performance suggests a positive audience response heading into its first weekday run.
