Trisha Krishnan attends CM Vijay's Independence Day event in a saree.
Actor Trisha Krishnan attended Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay’s first Independence Day ceremony at Fort St George in Chennai on August 15. The actor took a front-row seat alongside Vijay’s parents, Shoba Chandrasekhar and S.A. Chandrasekhar, as well as her mother, Uma Krishnan. Videos from the event showed Trisha saluting Vijay as he passed by while carrying out his official duties during the ceremony.
Trisha opted for a mustard-yellow crepe silk saree for the occasion, featuring floral motifs along its border. She draped the saree in a traditional style, with neatly arranged pleats and a flowing pallu. She paired it with a contrasting green blouse detailed with intricate zari work, creating a festive yet understated look. Her choice of traditional attire complemented the formal setting of Vijay’s first Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony as chief minister.
The actor completed her appearance with a centre-parted fish braid decorated with white gajra flowers. Curled fringes framed her face, while her makeup remained subtle and matte. She appeared to opt for a skin tint instead of heavy foundation, paired with muted brown eyeshadow, black kohl and mascara. A peach-pink blush, small red bindi and mauve-pink nude lipstick completed her makeup look.

For accessories, Trisha wore kundan jhumkas and two kadas on her right hand. Her traditional styling quickly attracted attention on social media, particularly because of her continued appearances at important events involving Vijay. She had earlier attended his Jana Nayagan screening and oath-taking ceremony and was also seen at his residence on the day of vote counting. Her presence at the Independence Day event added further interest among fans and followers.
Meanwhile, Vijay addressed the gathering after hoisting the national flag at Fort St George. In his Independence Day message, he greeted people across the world and referred to his Gen Z supporters. He also spoke about corruption, saying that eliminating it would help bring true freedom. Vijay said his government was working to prevent the diversion of government revenue to private individuals and taking continuous action against corruption across departments.
The Independence Day ceremony marked Vijay’s first flag-hoisting event at Fort St George after taking charge as Tamil Nadu chief minister. Trisha’s appearance alongside members of Vijay’s family drew attention beyond the official proceedings, with images and videos from the event circulating widely online. Her traditional saree, gajra-adorned hairstyle and understated jewellery became a prominent part of the social media discussion surrounding the ceremony.
