Actor Rashmika Mandanna sparked attention at the trailer launch event of Cocktail 2 after she made a remark about being “happily married” while speaking about first love, drawing reactions from fans and media present at the event.
The event, attended by co-stars Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, featured a candid discussion on the theme of “first love” as part of promotions for the upcoming film. When asked about her “pehla pyaar,” Rashmika responded that she is currently very happy in her married life and prefers not to revisit past relationships, shifting the conversation towards her present.
During the interaction, Kriti Sanon further probed the question, asking whether Rashmika remembers her first love. The actor reiterated that she is content in the present and chose not to elaborate further, keeping her response brief and focused on her current personal happiness. Co-star Shahid Kapoor also shared his perspective on love during the discussion, stating that early experiences are often misunderstood as love and only later do people understand its deeper meaning. Kriti Sanon echoed similar sentiments, suggesting that perceptions of love evolve over time and are often clearer in hindsight.
The conversation also brought renewed attention to Rashmika Mandanna’s personal life and her long-standing relationship with actor Vijay Deverakonda, with whom she reportedly tied the knot in a private traditional Telugu ceremony followed by a Kodava wedding earlier this year. The couple, who first worked together in Geetha Govindam (2018) and later Dear Comrade (2019), have often been linked through their on-screen and off-screen association.
Following their wedding celebrations, the couple also marked the occasion by distributing sweets and organising charitable food donations across several cities in India, according to earlier statements. Meanwhile, Cocktail 2, directed by Homi Adajania, is slated for release on June 19, 2026, and is positioned as a spiritual sequel to the 2012 film Cocktail, exploring themes of love, friendship, and modern relationships.
