Priyanka Chopra Hints at Don 3 Comeback – Mahesh Babu Drops Epic Reply

Priyanka Chopra teases possible Don 3 return; Mahesh Babu quips Then there's something happening.

Priyanka Chopra’s return to Indian Cinema has become one of the most closely watched developments in the film industry, especially with her upcoming collaboration with SS Rajamouli in Varanasi. Alongside this, speculation around her possible comeback to iconic franchises like Don 3 and Krrish 4 has gained fresh momentum. The actress recently addressed these rumours in an interview, setting social media abuzz.

During a conversation with ScreenRant, Priyanka remained guarded when asked about her involvement in Don 3 and Krrish 4, saying she was unsure if she could speak about them. Actor Mahesh Babu, who was part of the discussion, quickly reacted by remarking, “Then there’s something happening.” His comment, followed by Priyanka’s laughter, further fueled speculation about behind-the-scenes developments.

Adding to the intrigue, Priyanka described the phase ahead as “exciting times,” highlighting her enthusiasm about returning to Indian films after nearly six years. She revealed that Varanasi marks her first Indian project in this period and said her favourite part of the experience was getting to dance again, something she had missed in her Hollywood ventures.

Buzz around Don 3 has been persistent since reports emerged that Farhan Akhtar had approached Shah Rukh Khan to reprise his role. While nothing has been officially confirmed, multiple reports suggest that the project has faced repeated delays due to casting changes, online backlash, and scheduling conflicts involving Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani. Insiders have hinted that Priyanka Chopra may be reconsidered for the role of Roma, which she famously portrayed in Don and Don 2.

The Don franchise, originally headlined by Amitabh Bachchan and later redefined by Shah Rukh Khan, holds a special place in Bollywood history. The announcement of Ranveer Singh as the new Don in 2023 was met with intense fan resistance, eventually stalling the project. Recent reports indicate that Ranveer has stepped back to focus on other genres, leaving the future of Don 3 uncertain once again.

Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra is set to make her grand return with Varanasi, SS Rajamouli’s ambitious magnum opus, where she plays a character named Mandakini. The film’s title was unveiled at a global event in Hyderabad in November 2025, and it is scheduled for a theatrical release on April 7, 2027. With her renewed presence in Indian cinema, anticipation around her next moves continues to grow.
