Leonardo DiCaprio to Receive Top Honour at Palm Springs Film Festival for Acclaimed Role

Acclaimed actor Leonardo DiCaprio is set to receive the prestigious Desert Palm Achievement Award at the upcoming Palm Springs International Film Festival 2026, recognizing his captivating performance in director Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest drama, "One Battle After Another." The award ceremony will take place on January 3, 2026, during the festival which runs from January 2 to 11.
Festival Chairman Nachhattar Singh Chandi praised DiCaprio’s emotionally charged portrayal of a man pushed to his limits amid relentless adversity in the film. Describing his career, Chandi said DiCaprio has consistently redefined screen acting with his emotional depth, artistic integrity, and fearless commitment, embodying every role with sincerity and passion.
"One Battle After Another," loosely inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s 1990 novel Vineland, follows a former revolutionary who reunites with old comrades to rescue his missing daughter after 16 years. The film stars a strong ensemble cast alongside DiCaprio, including Sean Penn, Regina Hall, and Benicio Del Toro. Released in late September, the film was met with both critical acclaim and commercial success, grossing over $200 million worldwide.

DiCaprio’s celebrated career launched in the early 1990s with notable films like This Boy’s Life and What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, before rising to international fame with James Cameron’s Titanic.
