Kusha Kapila Clarifies She Hasn't Reconciled With Samay Raina After Feud
Kusha Kapila denies reconciliation with Samay Raina after viral photo.
Content creator and actor Kusha Kapila has strongly denied rumours suggesting she had reconciled with comedian Samay Raina after an allegedly AI-altered photograph from Jasleen Royal's birthday party went viral on social media. Responding through a series of Instagram Stories, Kusha clarified that the circulating images were fake and asserted that she and Samay did not interact at the event. She also criticised attempts to spread misinformation, saying such content undermined her experiences and sought to minimise women's voices.
Addressing the rumours directly, Kusha described the viral image as "AI-altered" and "fake," questioning why anyone would create and circulate manipulated content. She alleged that the image had been deliberately seeded online and said the campaign reflected efforts to discredit her. The actor also thanked event host Nikhil Taneja for supporting her and publicly calling out the misinformation surrounding the incident.
Kusha went on to explain the background of her fallout with Samay Raina, recalling their involvement in a roast show hosted by comedian Ashish Solanki. She said there had been no prior script, contractual agreement or advance knowledge of the jokes that would be made during the event. According to Kusha, several remarks directed at her crossed acceptable boundaries, and she maintained that those comments should have been censored.

Reflecting on the impact of the episode, Kusha revealed that the incident had left her emotionally distressed and required significant time and therapy to overcome. She said she had blocked both Samay Raina and Ashish Solanki following the controversy and reiterated that she regretted participating in the roast. The actor added that the experience had deeply affected her and remained one of the most difficult episodes of her public life.
Clarifying her current relationship with Samay, Kusha stated that they are not friends and emphasised that she has no plans to appear on his show, Latent. She also noted that although they have attempted to remain cordial and move forward privately, they have mutually decided not to discuss each other publicly. Kusha further said she had declined requests from several media organisations to comment when Samay faced controversies in the past.
The incident has once again highlighted growing concerns over the misuse of artificial intelligence to create misleading content and fuel online speculation. As AI-generated images become increasingly sophisticated, public figures continue to face challenges in countering misinformation circulating on social media. Kusha's statement has drawn widespread attention online, with many users expressing support for her decision to address the rumours and clarify the facts surrounding the viral images.
