Kunal Kamra Tears into Allahbadia: "Your Stupidity Still Makes Comedians' Lives Difficult"
Kamra blasts Allahbadia for ignoring widespread damage caused to India's stand-up comedy community.
Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has sharply criticised YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia over his recent remarks on the fallout from the India’s Got Latent controversy, accusing him of “milking” the incident for sympathy. The exchange unfolded on X and quickly drew attention online.
The controversy reignited after Allahbadia shared a reflective post about how a single incident had disrupted his decade-long career. Referencing a couplet by Kabir, he spoke about patience and rebuilding, prompting a strong response from Kamra.
Kamra alleged that the impact of the controversy extended far beyond Allahbadia personally, affecting the wider comedy ecosystem. He claimed that more than 30 artists, including himself, were summoned by authorities due to their association with the show, and that multiple performances were cancelled as venues withdrew support.

In a strongly worded post, Kamra accused Allahbadia of failing to acknowledge the consequences faced by fellow comedians. He argued that the incident created a “pathetic shadow” over the stand-up community, making it harder for performers to continue their work without scrutiny or disruption.
The row traces back to a February 2025 episode of India’s Got Latent, hosted by Samay Raina, where Allahbadia made a controversial remark that went viral and triggered widespread backlash. The episode featured several digital creators and sparked criticism over content standards, eventually leading to multiple FIRs and the removal of episodes from streaming platforms.
While Allahbadia had earlier apologised for what he termed a “lapse in judgment,” the renewed criticism highlights lingering tensions within the comedy circuit. The episode also reignited debates around content regulation, with the controversy previously reaching parliamentary discussions and raising broader concerns about the boundaries of online entertainment in India.
