Kangana Ranaut Dismisses Secret Marriage Rumours After Viral Mangalsutra Photos
Kangana Ranaut denies secret marriage, explains viral photos.
Actor and politician Kangana Ranaut has dismissed speculation that she secretly got married after a viral picture showed her wearing a mangalsutra and green bangles, clarifying that the image was from a film shoot and not related to her personal life.
The rumours began circulating on social media after photos of Kangana in traditional bridal symbols—typically associated with married Hindu women—spread widely online. The visuals quickly triggered speculation that the actor had tied the knot in secret, prompting widespread discussion and calls for clarification from fans and media outlets.
Responding to the speculation, Kangana said in an Instagram story that she is currently filming and the viral image was taken while she was in character. She explained that she was wearing the attire as part of her role and not in any personal capacity, adding that people were reading too much into a routine on-set look. She also questioned the attention given to the “married-woman look,” calling the reaction unnecessary.

Kangana firmly denied the rumours of a secret marriage, assuring her followers that no such event had taken place. She stated that actors frequently wear different costumes for roles and should not be assumed to be reflecting real-life changes based on their on-screen appearances. “I won’t marry secretly, I promise,” she clarified, aiming to put an end to the speculation.
The clarification also comes amid previous media chatter linking her to political leader Chirag Paswan, which she had earlier dismissed, stating that they share a long-standing friendship dating back to their collaboration in the 2011 film Miley Naa Miley Hum. She had described the rumours of romance as unfounded and reiterated that their relationship is purely cordial.
On the professional front, Kangana was last seen in the film Emergency, where she portrayed former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The actor continues to remain active in both cinema and public life, often drawing attention for her statements as much as her performances.
