A 23-Year Love Story Finds Its Blessing in Vrindavan: Ashlesha Savant Weds Sandeep Baswana

Ashlesha Savant marries longtime partner Sandeep Baswana in a serene Vrindavan temple ceremony after 23 years together.

Television actors Ashlesha Savant and Sandeep Baswana have tied the knot after a 23-year courtship, choosing the spiritually significant Chandrodaya Temple in Vrindavan as the venue for their intimate wedding on November 16, 2025. The private ceremony, attended only by immediate family members, was inspired by a visit the couple made to the city’s Radha-Krishna temples in April this year. Savant, widely recognized for playing the antagonistic Barkha in the hit series Anupamaa and earlier as Teesha Mehta Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, shared the news with fans through dreamy photographs posted on Instagram on November 23.

In the pictures, the newlyweds are seen radiating joy in coordinated pastel pink attire—Savant in a graceful saree and Baswana in a kurta-pyjama with a matching jacket. The couple captioned their joint post: “And just like that, we stepped into a new chapter as Mr. & Mrs.… Tradition found its way into our hearts. We are filled with gratitude for all the blessings. ❤️❤️🧿 #justmarried #grateful #us The announcement quickly went viral, drawing warm wishes from fans and colleagues alike.

Ashlesha and Sandeep first met in 2002 on the sets of Ekta Kapoor’s landmark show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, where they portrayed Teesha and Sahil Virani, respectively. Their relationship began when Ashlesha, facing a long daily commute, occasionally stayed over at Sandeep’s home, gradually deepening their bond. The couple has lived together for many years, resisting pressure to formalize their relationship until they felt the moment was right. Speaking to the Times of India, Sandeep said their parents were overjoyed and had been eagerly awaiting this day, adding that a Krishna temple wedding felt like the perfect culmination of their journey.

Ashlesha currently appears in the StarPlus daily soap Jhanak alongside Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja, while Sandeep plays a key role in the recently launched Colors show Apollena—Sapno Ki Unchi Udann. Their low-key yet deeply meaningful wedding has been hailed by fans as a refreshing reminder that love, even in the glamour-driven world of Indian television, can flourish quietly and authentically over decades.
