Yash Raj Films Denies Reports Of Aneet Padda As Madhubala

Yash Raj Films denies reports that Saiyaara star Aneet Padda will portray Madhubala in the upcoming biopic.

Rumours that actor Aneet Padda will portray legendary Bollywood icon Madhubala in an upcoming biopic have been denied by Yash Raj Films, the studio that manages the young actor. The clarification came after social media and entertainment portals reported that Aneet had been cast in the lead role of the highly anticipated film based on the life of the classic Hindi cinema star.

Speculation began circulating online suggesting that Aneet had been chosen to play Madhubala, with some reports claiming she had replaced Kiara Advani in the project. However, when contacted for confirmation, a spokesperson from Yash Raj Films dismissed the reports, calling them “untrue.” The talent agency clarified that the actor is not attached to the biopic, effectively putting an end to the viral casting rumours.

The confusion appears to have been fueled by Aneet's rising popularity following her breakthrough performance in the 2025 romantic drama Saiyaara, where she starred opposite Ahaan Panday. The film, produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by Mohit Suri, turned the two newcomers into overnight sensations and significantly boosted Aneet's profile in the Hindi film industry.

Meanwhile, the status of the Madhubala biopic itself remains unclear. While the project has generated interest for years due to the enduring legacy of the actress—often regarded as one of the most iconic stars of Indian cinema—there has been no official confirmation about the final casting or production timeline. Earlier reports had linked Kiara Advani to the role, but it is uncertain whether she was ever formally signed on or continues to be associated with the film.

Despite the rumours, Aneet's upcoming slate of projects appears to be focused elsewhere. The actor is confirmed to appear in the film Shakti Shalini, part of producer Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, which is scheduled for release in December 2026. Industry observers note that her career trajectory has been closely watched after the success of Saiyaara, which established her as one of Bollywood’s promising new faces.

For now, the speculation about who will eventually portray Madhubala on screen continues. With the casting of the biopic still unresolved, filmmakers and fans alike remain eager to see which actor will ultimately take on the challenging task of bringing the life of the legendary star to the big screen.
