A behind-the-scenes video from the sets of the upcoming Bollywood feature film Pralay has leaked online, sparking widespread interest among fans. The viral video captures lead actors Ranveer Singh and Kalyani Priyadarshan filming a critical sequence in a bleak, post-apocalyptic environment. The leak, which rapidly circulated across various fan accounts on social media platforms, offers the public a first look at the characters' distinctive styling, costuming, and the visual aesthetic of the highly anticipated project.
In the circulating footage, Ranveer Singh is seen sporting rugged, long hair and stubble, reminiscent of his recent look as Hamza in the box-office hits Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The specific scene depicts the actor walking through a dystopian landscape alongside Kalyani Priyadarshan—who is dressed in a brown tank top and green trousers—while carrying a young child on his back. Upon the director calling a wrap on the take, Singh is observed helping the young child down before interacting with the crew behind the camera.
Directed by Jai Mehta, known for his work on Lootere and Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, Pralay is being produced as a mega-budget survival action-thriller centered around a devastating zombie outbreak in a near-future version of Mumbai. The film marks a notable genre departure for mainstream Hindi cinema, which has historically rarely explored large-scale post-apocalyptic or zombie narratives. Industry insiders report that the production is operating on a massive budget of approximately ₹300 crore, making it one of the most expensive and ambitious survival spectacles attempted in the country.

The project serves as a significant professional milestone for both lead actors. For Kalyani Priyadarshan, who has achieved widespread recognition and won hearts in South Indian cinema with hits like Hridayam, Hello, and Maanaadu, Pralay serves as her official Bollywood debut. Trade reports suggest that Singh personally reached out to Priyadarshan and convinced her to take on the pivotal role after a detailed discussion. Meanwhile, the film represents a major creative shift for Ranveer Singh following the historic commercial success of his Dhurandhar franchise, which collectively grossed over ₹3,000 crore at the Indian box office.
In addition to his starring role, Singh is co-producing the venture under his banner, Maa Kasam Films, alongside True Story Films, Birla Studios, and Applause Entertainment. Principal photography for the film officially commenced in mid-August in the Mumbai metropolitan area, shifting away from an original plan to film in Australia. While the schedule is currently moving forward at full force, production timelines are expected to adjust later this month. Singh has reportedly requested a temporary paternity leave from the shoot to be with his wife, Deepika Padukone, as they prepare to welcome their child later this month. A formal theatrical release date for Pralay has not yet been announced by the participating studios.
