Directed by Jeethu Joseph, Drishyam 3 is the latest instalment in the highly successful Drishyam franchise, which began in 2013. The series follows the story of Georgekutty, played by Mohanlal, a man who repeatedly finds himself protecting his family from legal and societal consequences after a crime-related incident changes their lives forever.
Ahead of the film’s release, Mohanlal hinted that the franchise could continue beyond the third part. Speaking during the trailer launch event, the actor said Georgekutty’s journey might still have more chapters left. He clarified that his remarks about a possible Drishyam 4 were serious and suggested audiences would ultimately decide whether future sequels should be made.
The latest film takes place several years after the events of the second instalment and explores the consequences that follow when Georgekutty’s novel becomes a successful film, bringing renewed public attention to his past. Alongside Mohanlal, the cast features Meena, Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil. The project has been produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.
