Akshay Kumar Steals the Show in Bhooth Bangla, Says First Review

Early review praises film’s humour, horror, and strong performances

Early reviews of Bhooth Bangla have begun surfacing ahead of its release, with trade analyst Taran Adarsh offering a positive first impression of the horror-comedy. Directed by Priyadarshan, the film marks a reunion with Akshay Kumar and is backed by Balaji Motion Pictures and Cape of Good Films. The project has generated buzz for bringing back a successful actor-director combination known for delivering popular comedy films.

In his early review, Adarsh described the film as “genuinely funny", highlighting its effective blend of humour and horror elements. He rated the movie 3.5 stars and particularly praised Akshay Kumar’s performance, noting that the actor appears to be in top form. According to him, Kumar’s comic timing and his ability to seamlessly shift between light-hearted moments and eerie sequences stand out as key strengths of the film, making it engaging for audiences.

The review also points out that the film begins on a relatively light and humorous note before gradually transitioning into a darker and more intense narrative in the second half. The storyline combines traditional horror themes with comedy, supported by atmospheric visuals and effects that help build tension. While appreciating the film’s overall treatment, Adarsh noted that the writing could have been sharper in parts and suggested that a tighter runtime might have enhanced the viewing experience.
