Actor-Politician Khushbu Sundar Defends Trisha From Trolls Amid Vijay Controversy
Khushbu Sundar defends Trisha Krishnan amid trolling over Vijay rumours, criticising online scrutiny and paparazzi culture.
Actor-politician Khushbu Sundar has come to the defense of her close friend, Actress Trisha Krishnan, amid intense online trolling following the latter’s recent public appearance with actor Vijay. The controversy arose after Trisha attended a wedding reception in Chennai with Vijay, shortly after reports emerged that his wife, Sankgeetha Sornalingam, had filed for divorce citing infidelity.
The appearance sparked a wave of speculation on social media, with numerous users commenting on the relationship between Trisha and Vijay. Many of these comments have been critical, leading to widespread online scrutiny and personal attacks directed at Trisha.
Khushbu Sundar, speaking to DeKoder, criticized the culture of immediate judgment that often dominates social media. She described Trisha as “one of the most dignified women” she has known and emphasized the actor’s gentle and respectful nature. “Unfortunately, we are in a time where even if you sneeze, you want to blame it on someone else,” Khushbu said, highlighting how public figures are often unfairly scrutinized.

The actor-politician also suggested that much of the criticism stems from people taking undue interest in the private lives of celebrities. She said, “Those who sit and comment are happy looking into someone’s life rather than reflecting on their own problems. They enjoy or get a sadistic pleasure in commenting on someone else… 99.9 per cent of them are not known to the people they comment on.” Khushbu stressed that responding to such commentary is unnecessary and unproductive.
Khushbu further addressed the growing paparazzi culture in Chennai, noting how Trisha was recently followed by photographers at the Chennai airport but chose not to engage with them. “I wouldn’t want to comment on paps who are going about following everywhere. This is the kind of system we have seen in Mumbai and not here. Unfortunately, it’s starting here,” she said, warning against the intrusive media practices that have become common elsewhere.
In earlier remarks to IANS, Khushbu reiterated that matters involving personal relationships should remain private and not be sensationalized. She emphasized that individuals involved in such situations deserve respect and that public speculation only contributes to unnecessary stress and invasion of privacy.
