Abhishek Malhan Breaks Silence on Munawar Faruqui Rivalry After Traitors 2
Abhishek Malhan says Munawar Faruqui made rivalry about ego.
YouTuber Abhishek Malhan has opened up about his rivalry with stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui during The Traitors Season 2, saying he viewed their confrontation as part of the game and did not want the fallout to continue after his elimination. Abhishek, also known as Fukra Insaan, said the rivalry ended for him once he left the show, despite the social media developments that followed between the two contestants.
Abhishek explained that his decision to target Munawar during the Circle of Shaq was driven by strategy rather than personal hostility. He said he expected Munawar to take his name and therefore believed he had to protect himself from elimination. According to Abhishek, contestants on The Traitors must be prepared to make difficult decisions, including turning against people they may otherwise consider friends. He maintained that getting eliminated was part of the game and not something he wanted to continue dwelling on after returning home.
The content creator also addressed the social media fallout between the two. Abhishek claimed that Munawar was the one who first unfollowed him on Instagram and removed him as a follower after sharing posts and stories related to the situation. However, Abhishek said he deliberately chose not to respond in a way that could encourage supporters of either side to engage in online fan wars. He also pointed out that he had been eliminated by his friend Shahneel Gill during the competition but did not hold a grudge over that decision, reiterating that the show was ultimately a game.

Abhishek further argued that viewers need more time to understand the nature of The Traitors and the behaviour it demands from contestants. He said the format requires participants to lie, manipulate and sometimes betray people they genuinely like in order to survive. He also noted that his personality on the show was different from what audiences had seen during Bigg Boss OTT because the two programmes require different approaches. According to him, even host Karan Johar presents a different persona on The Traitors, and viewers may better understand the format after watching more seasons.
The YouTuber revealed that he had initially decided not to participate in reality television again after his experience with Bigg Boss OTT. However, his stint on The Traitors 2 allowed him to explore a different side of his personality and show audiences a version of himself they may not have previously seen. Abhishek said the experience has made him more open to taking up projects that allow him to connect with his fans, although he does not currently want to return as a contestant on another reality show.
Despite the controversy surrounding his rivalry with Munawar, Abhishek said he has no regrets about how he played the game. He maintained that he would make the same decisions again because The Traitors requires contestants to adopt an aggressive and strategic approach. He even joked that the show's makers should have selected him as one of the Traitors from the beginning. With the competition continuing and several contestants still in the game, Abhishek's comments suggest he sees his clashes on the show as strategic moves rather than personal disputes.
