18 Cuts Later 'Welcome to the Jungle' Bags U/A 16+ Certificate With 2-Hour 44-Minute Runtime
Welcome to the Jungle Cleared With U/A 16+ Rating; CBFC Orders 18 Major Cuts
The upcoming Bollywood film Welcome To The Jungle, starring Akshay Kumar and an ensemble cast, has been granted a UA 16+ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after multiple modifications to its original content ahead of its theatrical release scheduled for June 26.
The film reportedly underwent 18 edits mandated by the CBFC, including dialogue replacements, visual alterations, subtitle changes, and minor deletions totalling around 10 seconds of runtime. Following these revisions, the final approved runtime stands at 164 minutes and 50 seconds, allowing the film to proceed toward release with a youth-restricted classification.
Several dialogue changes were implemented as part of the certification process. These included replacing colloquial or potentially sensitive lines, altering references to military and political terms, and modifying certain character names. Words considered inappropriate or offensive were also muted or substituted in the final version to comply with certification guidelines.

On the visual front, the CBFC directed changes to several scenes, including the removal or modification of sensual imagery and certain choreography shots. Specific visuals involving actors such as Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez were altered, and some gestures deemed inappropriate were replaced with alternate shots to meet broadcasting standards.
Additional revisions included subtitle corrections, removal of background text in certain frames, and the insertion of anti-alcohol disclaimer messages wherever drinking scenes appear. These measures are part of standard certification requirements aimed at ensuring appropriate content warnings for audiences.
Directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Firoz A. Nadiadwala and others, the film features a large ensemble cast and is positioned as a major commercial release. With certification now complete, the makers are set to release Welcome To The Jungle in theatres on June 26.
