Zanai Bhosle shared an emotional tribute to her grandmother, legendary singer Asha Bhosle, in her first public post following the latter’s death. Expressing deep grief, Zanai described her grandmother as the “love of my life” and reflected on the overwhelming outpouring of respect and affection witnessed during the final rites.
Taking to Instagram, Zanai posted a throwback image with Asha Bhosle and wrote, "Goodbye, my love, love of my life,” accompanied by a red heart emoji. In another post, she shared an image of the late singer draped in the national flag, highlighting the state honours accorded during her cremation, which drew widespread attention from fans and the film fraternity.
In a heartfelt note, Zanai said she was overwhelmed with emotions and would express herself more fully in time. She thanked all those who came forward to honour the veteran singer, acknowledging the immense love and respect shown not just during the funeral but throughout Asha Bhosle’s life and career. Her message resonated with many who have been mourning the loss of one of India’s most iconic musical voices.

Asha Bhosle was cremated with full state honours at Shivaji Park Crematorium on Monday, following her death at Breach Candy Hospital on April 12 due to multi-organ failure. The ceremony was attended by several prominent figures from the film and music industry, reflecting her enduring influence across generations.
Among those who paid their last respects were Aamir Khan and Vicky Kaushal, along with renowned personalities including A. R. Rahman, Jackie Shroff, Riteish Deshmukh, Ranveer Singh, and Rakesh Roshan, among others. Several celebrities had also visited her residence earlier to offer condolences to the grieving family.
Asha Bhosle’s passing marks the end of an era in Indian music. A recipient of two National Film Awards, the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, and the Padma Vibhushan, she leaves behind a rich musical legacy. Known for timeless songs like “Dum Maro Dum", “Piya Tu Ab Toh Aaja", and “Chura Liya Hai Tumne", her voice continues to resonate with audiences, ensuring that her memory lives on, as her granddaughter poignantly noted, “in every one of us… forever.”
