Welcome to The Jungle Crosses Rs 100 Crore Worldwide But Faces Sharp Monday Slump

Akshay Kumar film reaches Rs 106.48 crore worldwide despite declining to single digits Monday.

Welcome to the Jungle continued its strong run at the box office despite witnessing the expected slowdown on its first Monday. The Akshay Kumar-starrer action-comedy earned an estimated Rs 8.50 crore net in India on Day 4, taking its total domestic net collection to Rs 72.25 crore. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has also crossed the Rs 100 crore milestone globally, with its worldwide gross collection reaching Rs 106.48 crore after four days in theatres.

After an impressive opening weekend that generated Rs 63.75 crore net in India, the film experienced a noticeable drop in collections on Monday, falling into single-digit earnings. The decline is considered typical following a strong weekend release, as weekday collections generally soften after the initial rush. Despite the slowdown, the film has maintained a solid hold at the domestic box office and continues to attract audiences across major markets.

The film recorded an overall theatre occupancy of 20.90 per cent on Monday across 10,922 shows nationwide. Morning shows registered an occupancy of 11.85 per cent, which improved through the day with afternoon occupancy at 20.46 per cent, evening shows at 22.69 per cent and night shows reaching 28.62 per cent. The steady rise in occupancy during later shows indicates continued audience interest despite the weekday decline in collections.

Among key markets, the Delhi-NCR region reported an occupancy of 24.5 per cent across 985 shows, while the Mumbai circuit recorded 21.8 per cent occupancy from 775 shows. These figures suggest that the film continues to perform well in major metropolitan centres, supported by its ensemble cast, comedy-driven narrative and franchise popularity among moviegoers.

Directed as the latest instalment in the popular Welcome franchise, Welcome to the Jungle opened to strong expectations and capitalised on weekend footfalls to deliver a healthy start at the box office. Crossing the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide within four days is a significant milestone, reinforcing the film's strong overseas and domestic performance during its opening phase.

Trade analysts will now closely monitor the film's weekday trend and its ability to sustain collections through the remainder of the week. A stable performance over the coming days will be crucial in determining its long-term theatrical success. With positive audience turnout in several regions and a strong opening weekend already behind it, the film remains one of the notable Hindi box office performers of the year so far.
