Swara Bhasker and Fahad Ahmad Share ICU Update After His Father’s Brain Haemorrhage
Swara Bhasker and Fahad Ahmad say his father remains in the ICU, seeking prayers for his recovery.
Actor Swara Bhasker and her husband, politician Fahad Ahmad, issued an emotional joint statement on Friday revealing that Fahad’s father—a lifelong social worker and National President of the Nationalist Youth Congress—is battling for his life in the ICU after suffering a severe brain haemorrhage. The couple shared a poignant photograph of him being wheeled into intensive care, accompanied by a heartfelt message seeking prayers from fans and well-wishers.
Fahad wrote, “My father has fought many battles in his life—and he has won every one of them with unmatched grace, courage, and faith.” He highlighted how his father had spent decades helping thousands of patients as a social worker, only to now face “one of the toughest battles of his life” himself. “Your duas, blessings, and good wishes mean a lot to us. May the Almighty grant him strength, complete recovery, and good health,” the couple appealed.
The health scare was first made public last week when Swara shared that her father-in-law had been hospitalised following the haemorrhage. The latest update has triggered an outpouring of support, with celebrities like Hina Khan (“Praying, my friend. Strength Duas and speedy recovery”) and Avika Gor (“Praying”) flooding the comments section with messages of solidarity.

Swara and Fahad, who met during a protest in 2019 and married in February 2023 under the Special Marriage Act, welcomed their daughter Rabiya in September 2023. The couple recently appeared together on the game show Pati Patni Aur Panga, finishing as third runners-up, and have often spoken about the pivotal role family plays in their lives.
As Fahad’s father continues his fight in the ICU, the family has requested privacy while expressing gratitude for the overwhelming love and prayers pouring in from across the country.
