Supreme Court Quashes All FIRs Against Samay Raina Over Latent Remarks

The Supreme Court on Friday quashed all FIRs registered against comedian and YouTuber Samay Raina and four others in connection with alleged insensitive remarks about persons with disabilities during the show India's Got Latent. A bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and JV Mohana passed the order after taking note of Raina and the other accused complying with directions previously issued by the court. The case arose from remarks made during the controversial show, which had triggered complaints and police cases in different parts of the country.

The court had earlier directed Raina and the others to undertake measures aimed at making amends, including conducting awareness programmes and raising funds for persons with disabilities.
