Sunny Deol’s ‘Jaat’ Surges to Rs 32.2 Crore in Opening Weekend

Sunny Deol’s high-octane “Jaat” has electrified the box office, amassing Rs 32.2 crore domestically in its first three days, the makers confirmed Sunday.

Helmed by Gopichand Malineni and backed by People Media Factory and Mythri Movie Makers, the film, released on April 10, has gripped audiences with its mass appeal. It earned Rs 11.6 crore on day one, dipped to Rs 8.5 crore on Friday, and rebounded to Rs 12.1 crore on Saturday, showing strong weekend momentum.

Mythri Movie Makers hailed the haul on X: “The power of MASS CINEMA. #JAAT collects 32.2 CRORES+ DOMESTIC GBOC in 3 days.” Starring Randeep Hooda as the antagonist, with Vineet Kumar Singh and Saiyami Kher, “Jaat” fuses South Indian flair with Deol’s raw intensity, resonating despite mixed critical reception.

Deol’s box office dominance is remarkable, given his selective film choices. Despite infrequent releases, his larger-than-life persona and knack for action-packed roles have consistently delivered blockbusters like Gadar and Border.

At 67, Deol’s ability to draw crowds underscores his enduring star power, proving he remains a force to be reckoned with, crushing expectations with every comeback.
