“She's Going Through A Tough Phase”: Arjun Bijlani Defends Mouni Roy

Arjun Bijlani defends Mouni Roy amid false dating rumours.

Television actor Arjun Bijlani has come out in support of his longtime friend Mouni Roy amid recent speculation about their relationship. Rumours began after the two actors were spotted leaving a dinner gathering together, prompting reports suggesting that their friendship had taken a romantic turn. Bijlani has dismissed the speculation as baseless and questioned the repeated focus on their personal equation.

Speaking in an interview with Telly Talk India, Arjun explained that he initially chose not to respond to the reports. He pointed out that he and Mouni have frequently met socially, including occasions when they have gone out for dinner together without other friends. He also alleged that someone has been attempting to defame Mouni for some time, although he said he did not know who was behind the reports.

Arjun also referred to other speculation surrounding Mouni’s personal life, including comments about her sexuality and drinking habits. He argued that attending parties or spending time with friends should not automatically lead to negative assumptions. The actor stressed that he and Mouni have worked together, created content together and maintained a friendship for years, making the romantic interpretation of every public appearance unnecessary.

The two actors became close after working together on the television show Naagin and have remained friends since then. They have regularly been seen celebrating each other’s professional milestones and spending time together socially. Arjun is married to Neha Swami and has a son, Ayaan, while Mouni was previously married to businessman Suraj Nambiar.

Mouni and Suraj announced in May 2026 that they had decided to part ways after four years of marriage. In their joint statement, they objected to what they described as intrusive attention and fictitious narratives surrounding their personal lives. They maintained that the decision followed thoughtful consideration of their evolving personal priorities and that they intended to move forward separately with respect and understanding.

On the professional front, Bijlani was last seen in Laughter Chefs Season 3, where he and Tejasswi Prakash finished as runners-up. He is set to appear in Chumbak Society, which also features Helly Shah, Deven Bhojani, Sumeet Vyas and Neena Gupta, and is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on August 28. Mouni was last seen in Ab Hoga Hisaab Season 2, which also stars Sanjay Kapoor, Shaheer Sheikh, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia and Avinash Mishra and is available on Amazon MX Player.
