Shehnaaz Gill Says “Acha Hua” As John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh Film Remains Shelved

Shehnaaz Gill has opened up about Sajid Khan's shelved film 100%, which was announced with an ensemble cast including John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh and Nora Fatehi. Reflecting on the project, Shehnaaz said she does not dwell too much on films that fail to materialise and believes that some projects not being made can ultimately be for the best. The actor also explained why she prefers to speak about a project only once it has been completed. 100% was announced around four years ago as a major project featuring Shehnaaz alongside Abraham, Deshmukh and Fatehi.

The film was expected to mark an important opportunity for Shehnaaz as she continued transitioning from television and reality shows into mainstream cinema. However, despite the announcement and the attention surrounding its cast, the project eventually did not take off and was shelved. Shehnaaz recently reflected on the experience while discussing the film and said she does not take such situations too seriously. According to the actor, she has come to believe that there are times when it is better for a project not to happen.

She said, “I don't take these things too seriously. I feel that if it didn't happen, it's good, because sometimes it's better that some things don't happen.” Her comments indicate that she has made peace with the film's fate rather than continuing to speculate about why it did not reach the screen. The actor also explained that she has changed the way she discusses upcoming projects because of the uncertainty involved in filmmaking. Shehnaaz said she prefers not to speak about a project until it is completely finished and ready for release.

She pointed out that circumstances can change at any stage, meaning a project that has been announced may ultimately not be completed. According to her, discussing such films too early can also create expectations among audiences that may later be difficult to meet. Shehnaaz said that when an announced project does not materialise, actors can face questions from people who had been looking forward to seeing it. She explained that she would rather avoid creating such expectations in the first place because she does not want to disappoint audiences. Her approach reflects the uncertainty that can surround film projects even after they are publicly announced, particularly when production or release plans change.

For Shehnaaz, therefore, the shelving of 100% is not something she appears to regret extensively. Instead, she has adopted a more measured approach towards discussing future work, preferring to wait until a film is completed before speaking about it in detail. Her comments on the Sajid Khan directorial also offer insight into how she views projects that do not reach the screen, with the actor choosing to accept that some films may simply be better left unrealised rather than allowing their absence to become a source of disappointment.
