Salman Yusuff Khan recalls painful kite flying accident.
Actor and choreographer Salman Yusuff Khan has revealed that he is recovering from a serious hand injury after undergoing surgery, clarifying that the accident occurred during a family outing rather than while filming or performing. The ABCD actor shared that he broke two bones after falling from a terrace while teaching his 10-year-old son how to fly a kite. Speaking in an interview with Hindustan Times, Salman recalled that the incident happened when he decided to introduce his son to the traditional pastime.
He said children today spend more time on gadgets, prompting him to teach his son how to fly a kite. After helping his son learn the basics, Salman stayed back on the terrace and attempted to fly the kite himself. "It was a very clumsy thing. These days kids are so into gadgets, so I decided to teach my 10-year-old son how to fly a kite. We were on the terrace. I taught him, sent him back down, and then got excited and tried to fly the kite higher myself. I slipped, fell 13 feet, and broke my hand," he said.
The accident resulted in two broken bones in his hand, requiring surgery. Photographs of Salman from the hospital had recently circulated on social media, prompting concern among fans about his health. He has since confirmed that he is recovering well and focusing on rehabilitation before returning to work. Salman acknowledged that physical injuries are not uncommon in his profession as a dancer and choreographer, where demanding routines and action sequences often carry a risk of injury.

However, he described this accident as unexpected because it occurred during a personal family activity rather than on a film or television set. Despite the setback, the actor said he remains optimistic about his recovery and is determined to regain full fitness as quickly as possible. He added that his immediate priority is completing rehabilitation and ensuring his hand heals properly before resuming professional commitments. Salman Yusuff Khan rose to prominence after winning the dance reality show Dance India Dance and later established himself as a choreographer and actor.
He is widely known for his performances in the dance-based film ABCD: Any Body Can Dance and has appeared in several television shows and stage productions over the years. The incident also serves as a reminder that accidents can happen during routine activities, even in familiar surroundings. While Salman continues his recovery, fans have flooded social media with messages wishing him a speedy return to good health. The choreographer has expressed gratitude for the support and said he looks forward to getting back to dancing and acting once his recovery is complete.
