Salman Khan Reflects on Acting And Career at Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah
Salman Khan amused fans at the Red Sea Film Festival with candid remarks about acting and his three-decade career.
Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan won hearts with his signature humility and humor at the Red Sea International Film Festival 2025, candidly admitting during an "In Conversation" session that he does not view himself as a skilled actor. The 59-year-old megastar, whose career has spanned over three decades with massive blockbusters, shared that genuine acting eludes him, preferring to rely on instinct rather than technique.
Set against the historic Al Balad district, Salman quipped, "Toh mujhe nahi lagta ki main koi bahut hi kamaal ka actor hoon (I don't think I'm a particularly amazing actor). You can catch me doing anything, but you can't catch me acting." He added, "Woh hoti hi nahi mujhse. Jaisa feel hota hai, waise karta hoon (Acting doesn't happen to me at all. I just do what I feel like)."
Salman's self-deprecating charm peaked when he joked, "Kabhi-kabhi jab main rota hoon, mujhe lagta hai aap log mujh par hans dete ho (Sometimes when I cry, I feel like you guys are laughing at me)." The remark drew laughter, but when the host polled the audience on his self-assessment, they resoundingly disagreed with a loud "no," met with cheers and applause.
Beyond the session, Salman presented the Red Sea Honoree Award to British star Idris Elba, warmly introducing him as a talented actor whose films he has enjoyed in theaters and at home with family. He also shared the spotlight with Hollywood icon Johnny Depp, with their encounter sparking viral excitement online.
On the work front, Salman is preparing for the patriotic war drama Battle of Galwan, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, where he portrays Colonel B. Santosh Babu, honoring the bravery displayed during the 2020 India-China clash in Ladakh's Galwan Valley. The film, inspired by real events, is anticipated to highlight themes of sacrifice and valor. This appearance further cemented Salman's global appeal, blending his larger-than-life persona with approachable candor in front of an international audience.
