The ominous message, received on Monday, details a plan to enter Khan's residence at Galaxy Apartments and detonate a bomb in his car.
Security concerns around the actor have escalated following previous incidents, including gunfire outside his home last year, linked to Lawrence Bishnoi's gang. Khan's security measures have since been significantly bolstered, including the installation of bulletproof glass on his balcony.
Authorities at Worli Police Station promptly filed a case against unknown perpetrators, launching a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend the sender of the threat. The Mumbai Police Department has not disclosed further details regarding the ongoing investigation or additional security measures being implemented for Khan's protection.

Recently, Khan admitted that heightened security due to threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has drastically altered his lifestyle, restricting his movements and daily routine.
The 59-year-old actor expressed his frustration over the tight security arrangements, which have left him with little freedom. “I cannot do anything about it (security). Khallas. So I go from Galaxy (home) to shoot to Galaxy, no detours,” he had said.
Known for his love of cycling around Mumbai, Khan was once frequently spotted on the streets without an entourage. However, after a series of serious threats, security around him has been significantly reinforced.
In April 2024, two men associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang fired shots outside his Galaxy Apartments residence. In response, authorities bolstered his security, installing bulletproof glass in his home and increasing surveillance with CCTV cameras monitoring the road outside. Two months later, Navi Mumbai Police uncovered a plot to attack the actor while he was traveling to his Panvel farmhouse.
