Round 2 for Me: Tahira Kashyap Reveals Breast Cancer Recurrence After Seven Years
Tahira, who is married to actor Ayushmann Khurrana and has two children, was first diagnosed with stage 0 breast cancer in 2018 and underwent a mastectomy.
On World Health Day, filmmaker and author Tahira Kashyap shared a deeply personal update: her breast cancer has returned after seven years.
Tahira, who is married to actor Ayushmann Khurrana and has two children, was first diagnosed with stage 0 breast cancer in 2018 and underwent a mastectomy. On Monday, she revealed in an Instagram post that the disease has resurfaced.
“Seven year itch or the power of regular screening – it’s a perspective, I’d like to go with the latter and suggest the same for everyone who needs to get regular mammograms. Round 2 for me… I still got this,” she wrote.
Marking the occasion with her signature candour and wit, Tahira added, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade, but when life becomes too generous and throws them again at you, you squeeze them calmly into your favourite kala khatta drink and sip it with all the good intentions. Because for one, it’s a better drink and two, you know you will give it your best once again.”
She ended her note with a gentle call to action: “#regularscreening #mammogram not shying away from saying it #breastcancer #onemoretime #letsgo. Ironically or not, today is #WorldHealthDay. Let’s do whatever we can in our capacity to take care of ourselves. #gratitude through and through.”
Known for her honesty and humour in the face of adversity, Tahira has long been vocal about her health journey. Her posts often blend fitness, mental wellness, and body positivity, encouraging followers to prioritise their health.
With her latest update, she reminds us once again of the importance of early detection, resilience—and finding sweetness even in life’s sour moments.
