Rimi Sen's New Chapter: Dhoom Star Becomes Real Estate Agent in Dubai

Rimi Sen now works as a real estate agent in Dubai and praises its system.

Former Bollywood actor Rimi Sen, who rose to fame in the early 2000s with popular films such as Hungama, Dhoom, Golmaal, Phir Hera Pheri and Johnny Gaddar, has transitioned into a new professional role as a real estate agent in Dubai. After gradually stepping away from the Hindi film industry, Sen has re-entered the public spotlight through her work in the Middle East’s booming property market.

In a recent interview with Buildcaps Real Estate LLC, Sen spoke about her decision to shift careers and described Dubai as a welcoming and opportunity-driven city. She noted that expatriates make up the majority of the population and credited the city’s inclusive environment for helping professionals from different backgrounds establish themselves. According to Sen, Dubai’s focus on infrastructure and quality of life plays a key role in attracting global talent.

Comparing business environments, Sen highlighted what she sees as structural advantages in Dubai’s real estate sector. She said the market functions smoothly due to strict discipline and clearly defined roles among developers, agencies and agents. “The real estate market here functions smoothly because there is discipline,” she said, adding that a proper system ensures accountability and efficiency across the sector.

Sen also contrasted the perception of real estate agents in Dubai with that in India. She remarked that agents in Dubai are treated on par with financial consultants, whereas in India, broking fees are often viewed negatively. According to her, professional respect and regulatory clarity contribute to a healthier business ecosystem in Dubai.

Beyond her career shift, Sen has previously addressed public discussion around her appearance. After social media speculation about cosmetic surgery, she clarified in an earlier interview that she had only undergone non-surgical treatments such as fillers, Botox and PRP therapy. She said maintaining discipline and skincare routines can significantly impact one’s appearance without invasive procedures.

Rimi Sen last appeared on screen in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s 2011 film Shagird. Since then, she has largely stayed away from films, focusing instead on personal pursuits and, now, her growing career in Dubai’s real estate industry.
