Ravi Teja’s Father Passes Away at 90– Chiranjeevi Mourns
Chiranjeevi and fans mourn the loss of Bhupathiraju Rajagopal Raju, who lived a quiet life despite his son’s fame
Bhupathiraju Rajagopal Raju, the father of Telugu cinema icon Ravi Teja, passed away at 90 on Tuesday night at the actor’s Hyderabad home due to age-related health issues, according to the actor’s publicists. Details regarding the final rites are yet to be announced.
A pharmacist by profession, Rajagopal Raju led a private life despite his son’s rise to stardom. His career took him across cities like Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bhopal, with his family by his side. Even after Ravi Teja’s success, Rajagopal Raju continued working and rarely appeared in public alongside his wife, Rajya Lakshmi. He is survived by his wife and two sons, including Ravi Teja. Tragically, his third son, actor Bharath Raju, died in a car accident in 2017.
The news of Rajagopal Raju’s passing has left fans and the Telugu film industry in shock. Social media has been flooded with condolence messages from fans. Industry veteran Chiranjeevi expressed his grief, stating, “I am deeply saddened by the demise of Ravi Teja’s father, Raj Gopal Raju garu. I last met him on the sets of Waltair Veerayya. My heartfelt condolences to his family, and I pray for his soul’s peace,” as shared by trade analyst Ramesh Bala.
