Actor Rashmika Mandanna, who celebrates her birthday on April 5, once opened up about her first onscreen kiss with Vijay Deverakonda in the hit film Geetha Govindam, describing the experience as both “intimate” and “shocking.” The actress is currently celebrating her birthday at an undisclosed location with her husband Vijay.

Rashmika had earlier revealed that performing a kissing scene for the first time in front of a large film crew was overwhelming. She said that while such moments are deeply personal in real life, filming them requires a completely different mindset. “Two hundred people were watching, and I was like, how?” she recalled, highlighting the discomfort actors often face during intimate scenes on set.

The actress also noted that both she and Vijay shared similar feelings of awkwardness while shooting the scene. She explained that onscreen intimacy is more technical than emotional, as actors must focus on the requirements of the character and the story. According to her, if the script demands such moments, they become a part of the performance rather than a personal expression.

Rashmika added that in Geetha Govindam, the characters were portrayed as a married couple, which justified the scene within the narrative. The couple, who tied the knot on February 26, recently celebrated one month of their wedding with a heartfelt social media post.
