Ranveer Starrer 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' Amasses Rs 339 Crore in Just Three Days

Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2 nets Rs 339 crore domestically in three days.

Aditya Dhar's highly anticipated spy thriller sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, has achieved a blockbuster opening, amassing Rs 339.27 crore net in India within its first three days of theatrical release. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 43 crore from paid previews on March 18, followed by a massive Rs 102.55 crore on its opening day (March 19), Rs 80.72 crore on Friday (Day 2), and a strong Rs 113 crore on Saturday (Day 3). This trajectory has propelled its domestic gross to approximately Rs 404.54 crore, reflecting exceptional audience turnout and high occupancy rates, particularly on the weekend.

The film, released on March 19, 2026, builds on the success of its 2025 predecessor Dhurandhar, which was a major hit. Directed and written by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2 features Ranveer Singh in a high-stakes espionage role set against a backdrop of geopolitical tensions, including references to real historical events like the Kandahar hijack, Parliament attack, and 26/11 Mumbai attacks. The cast includes Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun, with production handled by B62 Studios and Jio Studios on a reported budget exceeding Rs 225 crore. The sequel's action-packed narrative and patriotic themes have resonated strongly, driving massive footfalls despite its A-rating.

Dhurandhar 2 has shattered several box office records in its opening weekend. It registered the highest opening day for a Hindi film and the biggest ever for an A-rated Indian movie, surpassing previous benchmarks like Prabhas' Salaar. The third-day surge of over 40% from Day 2 highlights robust word-of-mouth and sustained interest, with multiplexes and single screens reporting packed houses. Overseas markets have also contributed significantly, pushing the worldwide gross past Rs 500 crore (around Rs 501 crore as per reports) in just three days—one of the fastest milestones for an Indian film.

The film's performance underscores a strong resurgence for Bollywood big-budget spectacles in 2026, following mixed results in prior years. Positive audience reactions, combined with strategic release timing around festive periods in some regions, have fueled its momentum. As it enters the second week, projections suggest potential to climb much higher domestically and globally, depending on holdover trends and competition.

This record-breaking run positions Dhurandhar 2 among the fastest-earning Indian films ever in its early phase, boosting confidence in the spy-action genre and Ranveer Singh's star power. Industry observers note that its success could influence upcoming releases and highlight the continued appeal of high-octane, nationalism-driven entertainers at the box office.
