Randeep Hooda Joins Assam Flood Relief Efforts, Distributes Supplies To Families

Randeep Hooda helps Assam flood victims

Actor Randeep Hooda has joined flood relief efforts in Assam, distributing essential kitchen supplies to families affected by the devastating floods in the state. Hooda shared visuals from the ground showing him walking through knee-deep floodwater and delivering relief materials as part of an initiative organised by a non-governmental organisation in Sivasagar. The actor posted a video on social media on Tuesday, giving an update on the ongoing relief work and highlighting the challenges faced by residents who continue to remain surrounded by floodwaters.

In the video, Hooda was seen travelling by boat and carrying essential items to affected households located in submerged areas. Sharing the situation on the ground, Hooda said that even after several days, floodwater remained above knee level in many areas. He pointed out that several families were still trapped in affected regions and that the relief team was receiving requests for assistance from residents who had not yet received support. The actor said the team was focusing on providing kitchen essentials to families struggling due to the prolonged flooding.

He added that the supplies carried during the relief trip had been exhausted as more people continued to seek help. Hooda also noted that residents expressed gratitude for the assistance being provided during the difficult period. The floods in Assam, which began on July 19, have caused extensive damage across several districts. Large areas of agricultural land have remained submerged, affecting livelihoods and damaging crops. According to reports, around 14,230.15 hectares of crop area were underwater, while thousands of animals were either washed away or affected by the floods.

The crisis has created significant challenges for local communities, with many families facing shortages of food, clean water, and essential household items. Rescue and relief operations have been ongoing, with government agencies, local groups, and volunteers working to provide support to people stranded in flood-hit areas. Hooda's participation in the relief programme has drawn attention to the continuing impact of the floods and the need for sustained assistance. The actor has previously been involved in humanitarian and social initiatives, using his public platform to highlight causes related to disaster relief and community support.

The relief team in Sivasagar is continuing efforts to reach families living in difficult conditions due to the rising and stagnant floodwaters. Volunteers are relying on boats to access areas where road connectivity has been disrupted, making transportation of supplies a major challenge. As flood conditions continue to affect parts of Assam, authorities and aid groups are focusing on emergency assistance, medical support, and rehabilitation efforts. The scale of the damage has increased pressure on relief operations, with many affected families requiring continued support even after water levels begin to recede.
