Preity Zinta Rejects “Trophy” Tag, Says Women Are Not Owned In Strong Response

Preity Zinta rejects “trophy” label, saying women are not owned during social media interaction with fans.

Actor Preity Zinta has responded strongly to a social media comment that referred to her as a “trophy,” rejecting the label during an interactive Q&A session on X (formerly Twitter). The actor made her remarks while engaging with fans amid celebrations over the strong performance of her IPL team, Punjab Kings.

During the exchange, Preity clarified her position with a firm response, saying that no woman should be viewed as a trophy or possession. She added that trophies are objects kept in display cases, while women have their own identity and place in relationships and society. Her comment was widely shared and drew attention for its direct message on respect and gender equality.

The conversation unfolded as she also discussed her professional commitments, including her upcoming film Lahore 1947. Preity said she had long wanted to work in a period drama and was drawn to the project directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. She also expressed enthusiasm about working with actor Sunny Deol, describing the film as a story set against themes of love, division, and conflict.
