Orry Reacts to Dhruv Rathee’s Video Claiming Janhvi Kapoor Underwent Surgery
Orry defends Janhvi Kapoor, labeling Dhruv Rathee an anti-nationalist after his YouTube video critique.
Content creator Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, launched a sharp rebuttal against YouTuber Dhruv Rathee after the latter released a video titled The FAKE Beauty of Bollywood Celebrities on December 25, 2025. In the video, Rathee discussed alleged cosmetic procedures and treatments undergone by several Bollywood actresses, including Janhvi Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Shruti Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Shilpa Shetty, Kajol, and Priyanka Chopra. Janhvi Kapoor's image was prominently featured as the video thumbnail, showing purported "before-and-after" pictures that claimed to highlight changes due to plastic surgery, Botox, fillers, or skin-lightening treatments. The content quickly sparked widespread debate on social media, with some supporting Rathee's critique of beauty standards in the industry while others accused him of body-shaming and unnecessary speculation.
Orry, a close friend of Janhvi Kapoor, came out strongly in her defense after coming across an Instagram reel that linked Rathee's video to her recent Instagram Story. In that story, Janhvi had condemned the 'barbaric' lynching of Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh, expressing solidarity with the victim. Orry pointed out the timing, suggesting Rathee chose to criticize Janhvi's appearance just hours after her post on a serious social issue. In his comments on the reel, Orry wrote that Janhvi "probably doesn’t even know who he is," dismissing Rathee's relevance in her life and implying the video was an attention-seeking move.
Taking the criticism further, Orry labelled Dhruv Rathee an "anti-nationalist," a term he repeated in multiple comments. He cheekily added, "I myself only know him as that anti-nationalist who complains about not getting papped at the train station despite having followers," referring to a past instance where Rathee had reportedly expressed disappointment over lack of media attention during a public appearance. Orry's remarks framed Rathee as someone who constantly seeks publicity and uses controversial topics for views, while defending Janhvi as someone who engages with meaningful causes without needing validation.

The exchange has ignited discussions online, with fans divided between those who support Orry's loyalty to his friend and others who argue that Rathee's video was a broader commentary on unrealistic beauty standards in Bollywood rather than a personal attack. Janhvi Kapoor herself has not publicly responded to Rathee's content or Orry's comments as of December 27, 2025. The controversy highlights the ongoing tension between social media influencers, celebrity culture, and public scrutiny of personal appearances in the entertainment industry.
Orry's outspoken defense underscores his close bond with Janhvi Kapoor and his willingness to confront criticism directed at his inner circle. As the debate continues to unfold across platforms, it reflects the broader conversation around privacy, body autonomy, and the role of online creators in shaping narratives about public figures.
