Actor Nushrratt Bharuccha has addressed the controversy surrounding a viral social media video shared during the Indian Premier League (IPL), clarifying that the audio clip that sparked online speculation was actually the sound of a puppy. The actress issued a detailed explanation through a series of Instagram Stories, urging people not to jump to conclusions or engage in online harassment based on assumptions.

The controversy emerged after Nushrratt shared a video on May 31 while celebrating Royal Challengers Bengaluru's consecutive IPL victory. The clip featured a background sound that some social media users interpreted as objectionable, leading to widespread speculation about its source. As discussions intensified online, the actress deleted the original video, reportedly on the advice of those around her who feared it could be misrepresented.

In her clarification, Nushrratt explained that she had been watching the match at a friend's house and that the unusual sound heard in the video came from the family's young puppy. To support her claim, she shared additional videos recorded from different angles during the same gathering, including footage showing the puppy making similar noises. She said the posts were intended to provide context and counter the rumours circulating online.

The actress also reunited with her former co-star Ishita Raj during the celebrations, which were widely shared by fans online.
