Netflix Reveals 2026 India Slate Featuring Ikka, Hum Hindustani, and More Originals
Netflix announces diverse 2026 lineup including legal drama Ikka with Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna, period film Hum Hindustani starring Saif Ali Khan, plus series and more.
Netflix India has unveiled its expansive 2026 slate of original films and series, showcasing a diverse lineup of content that spans legal dramas, historical epics, thrillers, comedies, and returning favourites. The announcement, made at the “What’s Next on Netflix 2026” event in Mumbai, set the tone for a year of ambitious storytelling aimed at both Indian and global audiences.
Headlining the film roster is Ikka, a high-stakes legal drama reuniting Bollywood veterans Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna in a courtroom face-off nearly three decades after their collaboration in Border. Directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra, the film follows a principled lawyer who must defend a murder accused whose past he once undermined — forcing him to navigate moral ambiguity under immense pressure. Alongside Ikka, Hum Hindustani, directed by Rahul Dholakia and starring Saif Ali Khan and Pratik Gandhi, dramatizes India’s first general election and the administrative challenges of nation-building in the immediate post-Independence era.
Netflix’s 2026 slate also highlights a range of other film projects designed to appeal to varied tastes. These include Ghooskhor Pandat, a conspiracy-tinged thriller led by Manoj Bajpayee; Accused, a drama centered on a doctor facing allegations of sexual misconduct; and Gandhari, a mythic revenge tale featuring Taapsee Pannu. Additional titles include Kartavya, a crime drama with Saif Ali Khan in a complex law-and-order narrative, and Lust Stories 3, the latest iteration of the acclaimed anthology series.
The streaming giant’s film slate further expands with genre-spanning entries such as the heart-warming cross-cultural drama Made in Korea, the adventure-driven Takshakudu, and the quirky dark comedy Toaster starring Rajkummar Rao. Netflix has also greenlit Maa Behen, a family-centric comedy-thriller featuring Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri, showcasing its commitment to varied storytelling across formats and themes.
On the television front, Netflix India announced multiple series across languages and genres. Returning favourites include Dhindora Season 2 and Mismatched Season 4, while new titles like Hello Bachchon, inspired by the real-life Physics Wallah story, and Musafir Cafe, a romantic journey of intertwining lives, expand its narrative range. Other notable series include The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show Season 5, Chumbak, and #Love, each reflecting distinct cultural and emotional tones.
Netflix’s 2026 slate marks a strategic push to blend commercial appeal with creative diversity, reinforcing its position in the competitive Indian streaming market. With a mix of star-studded films and ambitious series, the platform aims to cater to both domestic viewers and international subscribers seeking compelling Indian content.
