Mukesh Khanna Shares Views On Marriage, Explains Why He Remains Unmarried

Khanna says marriage is destiny-driven, believes in lifelong commitment.

Veteran Actor Mukesh Khanna has opened up about his personal life, explaining why he remains unmarried at 67 while reaffirming his strong belief in the institution of marriage.Best known for his iconic role in the television series Shaktimaan, Khanna addressed longstanding curiosity around his single status during a recent interview. He clarified that choosing not to marry does not reflect a lack of faith in marriage, but rather a deeper conviction about its significance.

Speaking about relationships, Khanna emphasised commitment as a central pillar of marriage. He questioned societal double standards, noting that while women are often expected to be devoted partners, similar expectations are not consistently placed on men. According to him, marriage represents the union of two souls, and any breach of that commitment undermines its essence.

Explaining his own journey, Khanna said his decision is guided by belief in destiny rather than reluctance. “A wife doesn’t just come randomly,” he said, adding that he believes the person he is meant to marry already exists and that their meeting will happen when destined. He maintained that age is not a determining factor in such matters, and that the timing of marriage is beyond individual control.

The actor also shared his perspective on love, suggesting that it is a singular, profound experience rather than something that can occur multiple times. He argued that moving from one relationship to another after professing love diminishes the meaning of that emotion and reflects a lack of sincerity.

Khanna’s remarks have once again sparked discussion among fans and observers, as his views combine traditional beliefs with a personal philosophy shaped by faith and experience. While he remains unmarried, the actor reiterated that his respect for marriage remains unwavering, positioning his stance as one rooted in principle rather than circumstance.
