#MeToo: Tanushree Dutta's Harassment Nightmare
Actress pleads for help amid ongoing home harassment.
Tanushree Dutta, the actress who sparked Bollywood's #MeToo movement in 2018, posted a heart-wrenching video on Instagram on Tuesday, sobbing and pleading for help. She claims to have endured relentless harassment at her home for the past four to five years, leaving her health in decline and her life in disarray.
In the emotional video, Tanushree shared, "I'm being harassed in my own home. I called the cops because I was so worried. They asked me to file a formal complaint at the station, which I’ll do soon. My health is deteriorating from years of harassment." She revealed that her home is in chaos, as she’s unable to hire maids due to past incidents of theft and misconduct. "People come outside my door, troubling me in my own house," she said, adding, "Please, someone help me."
In her Instagram caption, Tanushree wrote, "I'm sick and tired of this harassment!! It’s been going on since 2018 #metoo. Today, fed up, I called the police. Please, someone help me! Do something before it’s too late." She further detailed her ordeal on Instagram Stories, describing incessant loud noises and banging at odd hours for years. She noted, "Today, this went on all day. I was so unwell and couldn’t rest. Random people came to my door, ringing the bell despite my ‘Do Not Disturb’ instructions."

Tanushree’s #MeToo allegations began in 2018 when she accused actor Nana Patekar of inappropriate behavior during a 2008 song shoot for Horn 'Ok' Pleassss. She also implicated choreographer Ganesh Acharya, producer Samee Siddiqui, and director Rakesh Sarang, requesting they undergo narco-analysis and lie detector tests. Patekar denied the allegations, and in June 2019, the police filed a B-Summary report, suggesting Tanushree’s complaint might be "malicious" or motivated by "revenge." The case was closed, leaving Tanushree to face ongoing challenges.
