“Maybe I Was Jealous”: Saif Ali Khan Opens Up About Insecurities While Dating Kareena Kapoor
Saif Ali Khan admits feeling jealous during early dating phase with Kareena Kapoor over her working with other actors.
Actor Saif Ali Khan recently shared rare insights into his personal life, recalling moments of insecurity during the early phase of his relationship with Kareena Kapoor Khan. The couple, who fell in love on the sets of Tashan and began dating in 2007, have now been married for 13 years and are regarded as one of Bollywood’s most enduring power couples.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Saif admitted that dating a highly successful actress came with emotional challenges. He revealed that he struggled to process Kareena working closely with other male actors, describing himself as “not easy to deal with” at the time. According to Saif, jealousy and uncertainty were natural emotions that required maturity, trust, and time to overcome.
Reflecting further, Saif explained that his past relationships were largely outside the film industry, making Kareena’s professional environment unfamiliar territory. He noted that the idea of professional rivals being close collaborators with his partner was difficult to understand initially. However, he acknowledged that mutual love and trust helped them navigate these complexities.

Despite those early challenges, Saif spoke warmly about Kareena, calling her an “incredible” and “wonderful” woman. He praised her patience, warmth, and creativity, both as an actor and as the pillar of their family. Saif said Kareena’s ability to create a loving home has been central to their strong bond.
The actor also emphasized that Kareena’s happiness has always been his priority, even when it involved celebrating the success of others he once considered rivals. He described this emotional growth as an important part of their journey together.
Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor married in 2012 and are parents to two sons, Taimur and Jeh. Saif was previously married to Amrita Singh and shares two children, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan, from his first marriage.
