The makers of Mardaani 3 released the film’s trailer on January 12, coinciding with Rani Mukerji’s 30th anniversary in Hindi cinema. Rani reprises her role as fearless cop Shivani Shivaji Roy, this time tackling one of the darkest cases in the franchise. The film promises an intense, socially-driven narrative highlighting urgent issues in society.
The over three-minute trailer opens with a grim message: “In a country that worships goddesses… thousands of daughters go missing every week.” Shivani, now part of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), is pulled into a horrifying investigation involving the disappearance of 93 girls, exposing a dangerous beggar mafia.
For the first time in the franchise, Shivani goes up against a formidable female antagonist. Amma, played by Mallika Prasad, rules the beggar mafia with ruthless precision, marking a fierce battle of wits and strength between two powerful women. The trailer also introduces actor Janaki Bodiwala in a pivotal role, adding further suspense to the narrative.

Written by Aayush Gupta and produced by Aditya Chopra, Mardaani 3 continues the franchise’s tradition of exposing harsh societal realities. While the first film tackled human trafficking and the second explored a serial offender’s psyche, the latest installment sheds light on the sinister world of beggar mafias and the disappearance of young girls.
Speaking about her iconic role, Rani said, “Shivani Shivaji Roy represents quiet strength. Through her, we tell stories that make people uncomfortable, yet inspire hope. Mardaani is a franchise close to my heart, and this chapter is particularly intense.”
Originally scheduled for a February 2026 release, the film will now hit theaters worldwide on January 30, 2026. Fans can expect a dark, thrilling, and emotionally gripping cinematic experience as Shivani Shivaji Roy takes on her most dangerous case yet.
