Makers Confirm Vadh 2 Release Date, Featuring Sanjay Mishra And Neena Gupta
Sanjay Mishra, Neena Gupta reprise thriller in gripping franchise sequel.
The highly anticipated crime-thriller Vadh 2, starring veteran actors Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta, is set to hit theaters on February 6, 2026, as confirmed by the makers on Monday. Produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg under Luv Films, the film is written and directed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu, who returns to helm this spiritual successor to the 2022 original. A newly released poster captures the lead pair in enigmatic, intense expressions, hinting at a narrative steeped in moral dilemmas and psychological depth.
Described as a standalone story with fresh characters, Vadh 2 expands the universe of its predecessor by delving deeper into the human psyche under extreme pressure. Producer Luv Ranjan praised the project’s evolution, stating, “The beauty of Vadh lies in how it captures the beliefs of ordinary people tested by difficult situations that challenge their conscience and courage. With Vadh 2, Jaspal takes that exploration several notches higher—delivering a compelling and thought-provoking story that feels truly special.” The film promises to retain the gritty realism and emotional intensity that defined the first installment.
Co-producer Ankur Garg echoed the sentiment, noting the audience response to Vadh as inspiration for building a meaningful franchise. “The continued love for Vadh has inspired us to create movies that not only connect with audiences but also broaden the horizons of Luv Films,” he said. “With Vadh 2, we’re proud to see this world grow into a franchise that embodies impactful and meaningful storytelling.” The team aims to elevate the series into a benchmark for character-driven thrillers in Indian cinema.

The original Vadh, released in 2022, followed Shambhunath Mishra (Sanjay Mishra), a retired schoolteacher in Gwalior, who, after enduring relentless harassment from a predatory moneylender, commits a shocking murder. Alongside his wife (Neena Gupta), he goes to extraordinary lengths to conceal the crime, challenging perceptions of capability and morality. Despite a limited theatrical run and underwhelming box office returns, the film gained a dedicated following upon its Netflix premiere.
With Vadh 2 now officially dated, anticipation builds for another layered exploration of desperation, ethics, and survival. As the franchise takes root, Mishra and Gupta’s return signals a compelling chapter in Indian storytelling that blends suspense with profound human insight.
