'Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha' Teaser Out Ahead of Ranbir's 'Ramayana'
New Ramayana film teaser released ahead of Ranbir Kapoor's version.
The first poster and teaser of Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha – Shri Ram Ki have been unveiled, introducing another cinematic retelling of the Ramayana ahead of Ranbir Kapoor’s much-awaited Ramayana: Part One. Directed by Abhishek Singh, the bilingual film will be released in Hindi and Chhattisgarhi. The project places Lord Ram and Goddess Sita at the heart of its narrative, focusing on themes of love, faith, sacrifice, duty, devotion, dharma and maryada.
The first poster features Dev Sharma as Shri Ram and Anjali Arora as Mata Sita against a spiritually evocative backdrop. The visual emphasis is on the relationship between the two central characters and the values associated with their journey. Rather than immediately revealing the larger conflict of the epic, the promotional material focuses on the emotional foundation of the story and presents Ram and Sita as its central anchors.
The teaser expands the narrative with glimpses of Ayodhya, Ram and Sita’s relationship and their journey into vanvaas. It explores the emotional challenges surrounding separation, exile, adversity and destiny while highlighting the importance of dharma and maryada. The makers have positioned the film as a retelling that seeks to connect the timeless values of the Ramayana with contemporary audiences.

Dev Sharma said portraying Shri Ram came with a significant responsibility because the character carries the faith and emotions of millions of people. Anjali Arora similarly described playing Mata Sita as an emotional and demanding experience, highlighting the character’s strength, dignity, patience and faith. The film also stars Sheel Verma as Lakshman, Nirbhay Wadhwa as Hanuman and Rajniesh Duggal as Ravan.
