Madhuri Dixit Posts Thank You to Toronto – Fans Demand Apology for 3-Hour Delay and No Dance Show

Madhuri Dixit thanks Toronto fans amid outrage over delayed, shortened show that cost up to $250.

A day after the much-discussed Toronto event sparked outrage online, Bollywood star Madhuri Dixit finally broke her silence with a post thanking her fans. The actress shared a promotional poster on Instagram expressing gratitude for her Toronto audience while announcing upcoming shows in the U.S. “Thank you Toronto for a lovely Meet and Greet, and now looking forward to meeting my fans in New Jersey, Boston, Chicago, Houston, and New York,” her caption read. However, the post did not go down well with disappointed fans who accused the actress and the event organizers of misleading advertising and mismanagement.

The controversy stems from Madhuri’s Golden Girl of Bollywood show in Toronto, which allegedly started late and failed to meet the audience’s expectations. Several attendees took to social media to complain that Madhuri arrived nearly three hours behind schedule and that the event—advertised as an evening of dance, music, and celebration—ended up being a limited “Meet and Greet” session. One user commented, “You owe Toronto an apology for fake advertising. The event was marketed as a full performance, not a short meet-up.” Another wrote, “Toronto was very disappointed. People paid expecting a concert, but what they saw didn’t match what was promoted.”

Responding to growing criticism, the event organizers, True Sound Live Ltd., issued an official clarification. They described the backlash as “misleading social media commentary” and explained that the confusion was due to miscommunication between Madhuri’s team and their production unit. “The event began on schedule with Indian Idol singers as planned. The Q&A segment was to start at 8:30 PM, followed by Madhuri’s 60-minute performance. However, her management misinformed her about the call time, resulting in her delayed arrival around 10 PM,” their statement read. They also emphasized that the delay was “beyond the control” of the organizers.

The issue gained further traction after a viral clip posted by a fan named Parwaiz Dhanani showed Madhuri performing to the popular track “Mera Piya Ghar Aaya” from her 1995 film Yaraana. Critics claimed this short segment failed to justify the event’s high ticket cost and promotion scale. As discontent grew, social media users debated whether the responsibility lay with the organizers or Madhuri’s management.

While dissatisfaction among Toronto fans continues to dominate discussions online, Madhuri Dixit and her team have yet to issue a formal response addressing the accusations. For now, the actress appears focused on her ongoing U.S. tour, but the demand for a public apology from disappointed audiences remains persistent, keeping the controversy alive across digital platforms.
