A special reunion marking 25 years of the iconic film Lagaan was held in Mumbai, where actor Aamir Khan brought together members of the original cast and crew ahead of the film’s silver jubilee celebrations. The gathering, organised ahead of the film’s anniversary on June 15, recreated nostalgic memories of one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated productions. Director Ashutosh Gowariker also joined the reunion, making it a heartfelt occasion for the entire team. The event saw several moments of reflection as the cast revisited their journey from the landmark film.
Several key members of the original ensemble attended the reunion, including Paul Blackthorne, Rajendranath Zutshi, Aditya Lakhia, Yashpal Sharma, Akhilendra Mishra and Dayashankar Pandey. Suhasini Mulay, who portrayed Bhuvan’s mother in the film, was also present along with Aamir Khan’s family members, including Reena Dutta and Ira Khan. The gathering featured informal interactions, storytelling sessions and shared memories from the film’s production days. Images and clips from the event quickly circulated on social media, drawing attention from fans.

British actor Paul Blackthorne’s visit to India was one of the highlights of the celebrations, as he travelled specifically to participate in the anniversary events. Known for his role as Captain Andrew Russell in Lagaan, Blackthorne expressed joy at returning to Mumbai and reconnecting with his co-stars. The actor, who has since appeared in international television series such as Arrow and 24, shared updates from his trip, including city explorations and reunion moments. His return added an international dimension to the celebrations.
