JioHotstar announced on September 24, 2025, that its highly anticipated crime thriller series, Search: The Naina Murder Case, starring acclaimed actor Konkona Sensharma, will premiere on October 10. Directed by Rohan Sippy, known for films like Kuch Naa Kaho and Bluffmaster!, the series promises a riveting blend of suspense, emotion, and psychological intrigue. The official trailer, released alongside the announcement, offers a glimpse into the dark and layered narrative that awaits viewers.
The series centers on ACP Sanyukta Das, portrayed by Sensharma, a seasoned investigator whose plans to transfer departments to mend her strained marriage are disrupted by a teenage girl’s murder. Joined by rookie ACP Jai Kanwal, played by Surya Sharma, Sanyukta delves into a labyrinthine case that uncovers societal secrets and hidden truths. Sippy describes the show as “more than a murder mystery,” emphasizing its emotional, political, and psychological complexity. “Every character navigates their own fears and secrets, keeping viewers guessing,” he stated.
Sensharma, aged 45, highlighted the relatability of her character, describing Sanyukta as “a strong, layered woman juggling work and family complexities.” She praised Sippy’s directorial vision for allowing her to explore both strength and vulnerability, adding, “This gripping, multilayered story will keep viewers hooked as they navigate the maze of suspects.” The series, produced by Applause Entertainment and Highgate Entertainment in association with Applause Production, features a talented ensemble including Shiv Pandit, Varun Thakur, Dhruv Sehgal, and Shraddha Das.
