Kiara Advani Opens Up On Motherhood And Parenting Goals For Daughter Saraayah

Kiara Advani reflects on motherhood, emotional awareness, and raising confident daughter Saraayah.

Kiara Advani has spoken about her motherhood journey and personal growth, saying she does not want her daughter Saraayah to grow up as a people pleaser like herself. In a recent conversation on the Raj Shamani podcast, the actress reflected on how becoming a mother and wife has made her more aware of her emotional patterns and upbringing.

Kiara shared that even after achieving success in the film industry, she continues to seek validation from her parents. She explained that while external appreciation matters, approval from family holds a deeper emotional significance. She noted that children often grow up wanting to make their parents proud, which can sometimes develop into people-pleasing tendencies if not consciously addressed.

Speaking about her personal evolution, Kiara said marriage and motherhood have acted as mirrors, helping her recognise certain behavioural patterns. She added that awareness is the first step toward change, and that her relationships have made her more reflective about how she responds emotionally in different situations.

The actress emphasised that she wants to raise her daughter in an environment of emotional security. She said she hopes Saraayah always feels safe enough to communicate openly without fear of judgment or punishment. According to her, the ability to return home and speak freely is one of the most important aspects of a healthy upbringing.

Kiara also reflected on her own childhood, describing it as grounded in strong values and emotional support. She shared that her parents prioritised respect and discipline over academic pressure and ensured she and her brother were raised with a sense of responsibility and warmth.

Her family background, she added, shaped her deeply. Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara welcomed their daughter Saraayah Malhotra on July 15, 2025. The couple later revealed her name in November 2025, describing her as a “divine blessing.” Kiara said she hopes to pass on confidence, curiosity, and emotional strength to her daughter while avoiding the pressures of approval-seeking behaviour.
