In a candid conversation on the chat show Two Much With Kajol & Twinkle, actor Janhvi Kapoor addressed persistent rumors about her appearance, confirming she underwent cosmetic procedures under the guidance of her late mother, Sridevi. Kapoor emphasized transparency, stating, “I don’t believe in gatekeeping,” and expressed her desire to dispel the notion of perfection perpetuated by social media. Her remarks come amid online speculation about procedures like rhinoplasty, buccal fat removal, and lip fillers, including bizarre claims of a “buffalo-plasty.”
Kapoor highlighted the intense pressure young women, particularly those in the public eye, face to meet unrealistic beauty standards. She advocated for personal choice, saying, “I’m a big believer in ‘you do you,’ do whatever makes you happy.” Reflecting on her decisions, she noted they were made thoughtfully with Sridevi’s guidance, adding a cautionary note about the risks of uninformed procedures. Her openness aims to protect impressionable young fans from harmful beauty trends.
During the discussion, Kajol, a co-guest, shared her frustration with similar scrutiny, noting that both she and her daughter Nysa have been falsely accused of undergoing numerous procedures. Kajol previously advised young actors to embrace personal choices, stating, “God has made you in a particular way, and for what God has not made the way you wanted, there’s always make-up!” Their conversation underscored the pervasive judgment faced by celebrities and their families.
