Jackie Shroff Film The Great Grand Superhero To Release In Theatres On May 29
Jackie Shroff starrer The Great Grand Superhero releases on May 29 with a fantasy-driven family story.
Veteran actor Jackie Shroff is set to return to the big screen with his upcoming film The Great Grand Superhero, which has officially locked its theatrical release date for May 29, 2026. The film is backed by Zee Studios and Amdavad Films and is being positioned as a family-oriented fantasy drama with emotional and imaginative storytelling at its core.
The makers had earlier released a teaser that generated curiosity among audiences by showcasing a unique concept centred around a child’s imagination and the evolving bond between a grandfather and grandson. The story is said to blend emotional family dynamics with elements of fantasy and science fiction, including the idea of an alien-inspired adventure that unfolds through the child’s perspective.
At the centre of the narrative is Jackie, who plays a pivotal role that the actor describes as warm, uplifting, and distinct from his usual on-screen characters. In a statement shared by the makers, Jackie said the film reflects the idea that maintaining a youthful spirit and strength even in old age can itself be seen as a form of “superheroism,” adding that children’s dreams should always be given priority.

The project is expected to combine emotional storytelling with visual imagination, targeting family audiences across age groups.
Beyond his film commitments, Jackie has also been actively involved in social and sports initiatives. He recently attended the 5th National Wheelchair Cricket Championship 2026 in Greater Noida, where he interacted with para-athletes and encouraged greater support for adaptive sports in India. He praised the players’ passion and urged corporate sponsors to invest more in para-sports development. With its blend of fantasy, family emotion, and star power, The Great Grand Superhero is being closely watched as one of the notable family entertainers scheduled for release in 2026.
