Imran Khan Reveals Why He Won’t Do Any Film Even For Triple The Money

Imran Khan has opened up about the value he places on his time, peace of mind and creative choices, revealing that the highest pay cheque of his acting career came from a film whose making he found particularly miserable. The actor said the experience changed the way he looks at money and projects, making him more conscious about what he is willing to accept professionally.

Speaking to Brut India, Imran recalled that the film that earned him his biggest remuneration was also the most difficult experience of his career. He explained that the experience made him question how much money is worth sacrificing personal well-being and peace of mind. For him, the lesson was about identifying the point at which financial rewards are no longer enough to justify taking on a project.

Imran also made it clear that there are certain projects he would refuse regardless of the amount being offered. He explained that there should be a personal line that an actor is unwilling to cross for money, even if the financial offer is doubled or tripled. According to him, reaching that point can change one's perspective on work and help establish clearer priorities.

The actor is now preparing to return to the big screen after a decade with Netflix's upcoming romantic comedy Adhure Hum Adhure Tum. Imran, who was last seen in Nikkhil Advani's Katti Batti in 2015 alongside Kangana Ranaut, has completed filming for the new project. He has described the film as a "grown-up romantic comedy" that reflects where he is in life today and is expected to arrive on Netflix by the end of the year.

Adhure Hum Adhure Tum is directed by Danish Aslam, who previously collaborated with Imran on the 2010 romantic comedy Break Ke Baad. The film also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Gurfateh Pirzada. Imran described the project as a natural progression from the kind of film he and Aslam made 15 years ago, shaped by the life experiences they have gained since then.

Imran rose to prominence with his 2008 debut Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na opposite Genelia D'Souza. He subsequently appeared in films including I Hate Luv Storys, Delhi Belly and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. After stepping away from acting for several years, his decision to return with a project that feels personally relevant underlines his current approach of choosing work based on more than financial rewards alone.
