“I Never Thought I Could Do This!” – Mrunal Thakur Shocks Fans with Wild Transformation in Son of Sardaar 2

“I never thought I could do this!” – Mrunal Thakur stuns fans with her unexpected comic turn in *Son of Sardaar 2*.

Bollywood star Mrunal Thakur, best known for her powerful performances in serious dramas like Love Sonia and Sita Ramam, has done a complete 180 — and fans can’t stop talking about it. At the trailer launch of her upcoming action-comedy Son of Sardaar 2, Thakur revealed she never imagined herself in a loud, laugh-out-loud commercial entertainer… until now.

“This is my first full-blown commercial film. I genuinely didn’t know if I could pull it off,” she admitted, adding that she’s grateful to Ajay Devgn and director Vijay Kumar Arora for trusting her with the chaotic, fun-filled role of Rabia — a woman whose mission in life seems to be tormenting Devgn’s character, Jassi.

“I was like, ‘Can I really do this?’ But once we started shooting — with Deepak Dobriyal, Kubbra Sait, and Roshni Walia by my side — it became pure madness on set. We had a blast. I especially enjoyed working with Deepak sir — he’s just brilliant.”

The sequel to the 2012 hit Son of Sardaar, the film amps up the action and the laughs with a star-studded ensemble featuring Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Neeru Bajwa, Chunky Panday, Vindu Dara Singh, and the late Mukul Dev, whose unexpected passing in May has cast a bittersweet tone over the film’s release.

Both Kishan and Sait grew emotional while speaking about Dev. “We spent over 40 days shooting together. He was so excited for the film. Watch it for Mukul — he’s hilarious in it,” said Kishan.

Sait echoed the sentiment: “He was the first one on set every day. We all miss him terribly.”

Interestingly, the role played by Kishan was originally meant for Sanjay Dutt, who was unable to join the UK shoot after his visa was denied. Kishan stepped in at the last minute and delivered what he called one of his most “stressful but fulfilling” performances.

“I was under a lot of pressure. Sanju Baba played the part in the first film, and I had to live up to that. But Ajay sir believed in me,” Kishan shared, also cheekily thanking the British government for granting him the visa.

Meanwhile, Deepak Dobriyal is guaranteed to steal scenes as he takes on a wildly unexpected role — that of a woman.

“It was the most challenging thing I’ve done,” Dobriyal laughed. “I was in full makeup and wardrobe, but I’d still walk like a man. It took days to adjust. But I think audiences are going to love it.”

Son of Sardaar 2, produced by Ajay Devgn along with Jyoti Deshpande, N.R. Pachisia, and Pravin Talreja, hits theatres on July 25. With explosive action, laugh-out-loud moments, and a heartfelt tribute to a fallen co-star, this sequel promises to be a rollercoaster ride no one expected — least of all, Mrunal Thakur.
